What are the latest trends in colour palettes and textures? 

Having just returned from Salone del Mobile.Milano (Milan Fair), mixed materials were a strong theme, with marbles, leathers, stones and refined detailing appearing across collections.   

Colours were deep and rich, with Gucci’s Ancora red clearly influencing this year’s salone, along with, lavender, terracotta, cocoa and cinnamons.  

This doesn’t mean you need a burgundy sofa. Colour trends will influence our homes and interiors for many years to come. We don’t believe in following trends. We watch them and see how they can enhance a client’s home, however, as we believe in designing for the future, we won’t select any materials or finishes that won’t have longevity.

Is it best to have a consistent colour scheme throughout each room of the apartment, or can each room have its own distinct personality? 

Often bedrooms, living rooms, or even children’s rooms take on completely different feels.  

A bedroom may be nice and cosy, with darker materials and high-spec details, such as marbles, whereas your living area might encourage natural light and have a relaxed feel.  

We have created children’s bedrooms with custom wallpapers and Lee Broom swings.  

As long as you have a continued thread between all the areas, that ensure the synchroneity of the interior as a whole, then there are no rules.

Are there any ‘rules’ you should avoid at all costs? 

Sometimes rules should be broken. 

Some of the most amazing interiors we’ve created have been with clients who were brave and wanted something that pushed boundaries. 

This may be with material mixes, but that’s how you can truly create something new and beautiful.  

It’s important to follow the direction of those who you’ve entrusted with crafting and working with, and to understand the difference between trend and theme. 

It’s your home, so it’s your rules. We’re just here to make sure the result is beautiful and delivers your desired lifestyle.  

What are your tips on making your apartment totally unique – a stand out from everyone else’s? 

Don’t select items based on what someone else has. 

Your home should be shaped around what you like. Generally, if you like something it should all work together, as you’re surrounding yourself in things you love, or are drawn to.
